I work as secretary to the division chief now, but I started out in the field. It was a difficult time, both in terms of what we were dealing with at work and with where we were in our lives.
We managed for a few months. But it turns out that there was a limit to... what I could take. I've said in the past that it was obvious that it couldn't have worked but... well, maybe that's true. But not in the way that I meant it.
It's likely that you have time still on your side, though. Even the deepest of misunderstandings can be fixed... but I wouldn't advise letting things linger.
They might very well keep on shutting you out for as long as you let them. But... to not let them will mean fighting them. You have to decide if you want to put yourself through that.
