Essay: So how about that state of the union? In other words, I can't think of an essay prompt, but would really like to see that, whenever you have time to finish it.

Five relationships that are important to Tatsumi in camp

Given the reasoning given for this top five, I stayed out of the canon cast and also shied away from relationships that are less exclusively Tatsumi and more, well, adopted canon cast (e.g. Francescu). This was amazingly difficult!

The last two, Tatsumi hasn't spoken to recently, really, but they are people with whom he's had relationships that he's valued and who are still in camp, so.

Maladict is not quite sure to make of Himawari! He's never been very certain to begin with, and the whole Halloween incident has left him even more confused.

...and he likes people who can cause him to wonder, surprise him or otherwise top him in relatively non-threatening ways. |D

He does find her to be physically attractive but in a very... sort of obligatory way, a way that's more just the general vampire and not Mal specifically, so he just generally ignores that as much as possible. And so she's just this cute girl who would normally be nice but sort of boring, but... there's just something, maybe the way that she unexpectedly takes things in stride that is puzzling. And he's also really, really curious about what it was that was upsetting her so much during the vampire attack and when they were talking about it afterwards. He doesn't want to upset her more by asking her directly about it and he's pretty sure that Doumeki would still like to shoot him, so he's not quite sure how to go about finding out at the moment. But he can be patient!

So! Basically, Himawari is this really decent, kind girl who is MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE, which is intriguing and keeps Mal hanging around enough to have developed an affection for her that has grown more protective after the vampire incident.

...I AM HACKING AWAY AT THIS MEME. BIT BY BIT. I SWEAR.

Maladict really appreciates Kon. Like, really. Just for his being Kon. It was very reassuring and stabilizing to have that Kon-ness to rely on. He was sort of apprehensive about how things would be after the vampire incident, what with Kon being a hero and Kon's wife being a vampire slayer... but he actually had a lot of faith in, well, Kon being Kon and being understanding about it. He'd trust Kon with just about anything. However, he's also so comfortable with how things are now that he doesn't want to, hm, do or say anything that would change that.

Relationship: Maladict and Rikuou

Maladict generally thinks of Rikuou as something nice to have around -- easy on the eyes, amusing to the brain. He doesn't find Rikuou's attitude/personality to be either off-putting or intimidating; rather, it's actually quite comfortable to him, engaging but not an actual threat. Rikuou has actually made it up from the teeming mass of underlings of which most of humanity is a unconsciously considered a part to be thought of as mostly a peer and equal! But without the natural competition that comes with other vampires. Though after the Halloween incident, there's been more of an element of having to keep the relationship from becoming a threat -- Mal is made uneasy by being topped, and not only did Maladict totally lose control of himself around Rikuou in the worst way possible, but then Rikuou had to be all nice and stuff afterwards and a;kljk;ssf. So right now, Mal is still sort of uneasy around Rikuou -- but he wishes that he wasn't and that things were nice and uncomplicated again. It's not like he stays awake all the day emoing about it, but it is an irritation and he's not quite sure what to do about it.

Enjolras took a liking to Will! He seemed like a sensible kid, smart and, unlike so many in camp, not crazy. He also seemed to have some spirit to him, which is A++. While Enjolras is not blind to age issues such as maturity, education, etc., he doesn't dismiss people purely on the basis of age (...even when it comes to giving them guns, o canon) -- it's often very much nothing but a proverbial number. I-in fact, one thing that I've noticed is that in camp, Enjolras tends to get along better with those who are generally unbothered by all of that... hormonal stuff, which often tends to end up being the younger set. (All of that personal relationship and sex stuff, Enjolras really just... doesn't get too well or have much interest in, so with people for whom it is a part of their lives... well, there's just automatically a big part of them that he just doesn't get, which creates at least a bit of a disconnect.) Will is someone whom Enjolras would stop to talk to if he happened to see him about. \o/

1. "...WHAT ELSE HAPPENED HERE?" (...s-success, finally? He wouldn't be able to believe it at first. There has to be a catch... >/)

2. A brief thought of '...I wonder if that means he's finished.'

3. A lot of not looking at her chest.

4. "...well. Congratulations, I suppose. Given all of the time and effort you've poured into this, now that you've finally succeeded, we'll be seeing a sharp increase in your other projects, I take it?"

First Impressions

...FROM OVER A MONTH AGO orz Hopefully I can stop being a failure at threading sometime soon.

I covered the basics in your first impressions meme (http://scalesfromeyes.livejournal.com/1460.html?thread=6068#t6068), but to expand, Tatsumi's biggest weakness, it seems, is those who need help but are somehow unable or unwilling to accept it. That's obviously something that would lead to a lot of difficult and self-defeating situations, so it's not as though it's something he actively/consciously seeks out... but it's the traffic accident that he can't only not help slowing down to see but jumps out of the car and runs over to. By this point in Tatsumi's life/afterlife... he's aware of his tendency to do this, though, as I mentioned, he usually doesn't catch on right away (in his defense, the whole unable/unwilling to accept help means the trouble is usually being hidden in some way). And he seems pretty resigned to it, actually. (I don't think that was always the case.)

Needless to say, after the whole boggart incident, new campers and such weren't much on Tatsumi's mind for a long while. So any warning feelings that Tatsumi might have had in regard to Ginshu have been forgotten. Right now, if someone mentioned Ginshu or if Tatsumi happened to run into Ginshu, he would think, "...oh, the one with the irritating attitude. I wonder how he's been. :/" (And he does think of Ginshu as a "he"! ...the Yami no Matsuei universe makes very pretty girly boys, okay.)

Aaaaand I think that covers most of it. But it's late and my eye is twitching, so I make no guarantees. Of anything.
